It was with great sadness to hear that Luke Wilson, our good friend from the Institute for Religious Research, passed away on November 13, 2007. The fact that I had just seen Luke last month made his sudden passing even more of a shock. I had known Luke for many years, but we never really had a chance to get to know each other until we traveled together to Africa prior to the opening of the LDS temple in Ghana. Luke and I were scheduled to speak to several pastors regarding Mormonism in the cities of Accra and Kumasi. It was on this trip that He told me that his wife was struggling with Leukemia. Sadly, she went to be with the Lord in May of 2006.
I always enjoyed my conversations with Luke. He always seemed to have a perspective on things that I had somehow overlooked. His humility, his love for the Lord, his family, biblical truth, and the Mormon people were a strong point in his life. I will certainly miss him and I know He will certainly be missed by many. He was definitely a person who honored the title of Christian.
